Salvador, Brazil

Salvador is a coastal city located in Northeast Brazil’s sub-tropical climate with a population of over four million residents.

Since its founding in 1549, the city has been one of Brazil’s most prominent ports and international trading centers. In contrast to the wealth and modernity, widespread poverty and its consequences are apparent throughout the city.

Salvador has a rich cultural and historical significance for the Brazilian people and is known for its distinct culture and rhythm. People from all over the world are drawn to its beautiful beaches and welcoming people.

With all of these things to offer, Salvador is still a city that needs the Savior. The religious climate is a mixture of African Spiritism, European Mysticism, Catholicism, and dogmatic Christianity. Outwardly Salvador appears very religious, yet when you listen to the lives of the people who live here you can hear a longing for the one true God and His only Son.
